Leading the week: Katara International Arabian Horse Festival
The Katara International Arabian Horse Festival (KIAHF) returns to Doha as a grand celebration of equestrian excellence. Under the patronage of the emir, H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, this festival highlights Qatar’s historic connection to purebred Arabian horses.
Arabian horses have been central to the region’s culture for centuries, representing grace, endurance and heritage. Since its inception in 2021, KIAHF has rapidly evolved into one of the most anticipated equestrian events in the region. Held annually at the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), the festival showcases Qatar’s dedication to preserving the rich heritage of Arabian horses while elevating its status in international equestrian circles.
The festival will feature a Title Show for the world’s finest purebred Arabians, a highlight for equestrian enthusiasts. In addition, visitors can enjoy equine-themed art, exhibitions, auctions and vibrant street decor that captures the Arabian spirit. With prize money totaling 13 million Qatari riyal (around $3.5 million), KIAHF is one of the world’s most prestigious equestrian events.
