Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said there is “still an opening” to secure the release of the more than 130 hostages who remain in Gaza.

2:30 am: War has 'irreversible' consequences for Palestinians, Guterres warns
Speaking at the Doha Forum, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the “fast-deteriorating humanitarian catastrophe” has “irreversible implications for the Palestinians” and the region as a whole.
Guterres spoke two days after the United States exercised its veto on the UN Security Council to block an Emirati-drafted resolution calling for a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
“Regrettably, the Security Council failed,” Guterres said, adding, “I can promise I will not give up.”
