Electric SUV race coming to Saudi Arabia’s NEOM

Al Monitor: The Pulse of the Middle East

An electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) race will kick off in Saudi Arabia tomorrow. 

The Extreme E Desert X Prix will run from Feb. 19-20 at the site of the planned futuristic city of NEOM in northwest Saudi Arabia. The race features electric SUVs, commanded by teams of two. Extreme E seeks to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly practices by featuring electric SUVs, according to its website.
