Afghan evacuees in UAE protest US resettlement delay

From their shelter in Abu Dhabi, the protesters demanded they be resettled in the United States.

Hundreds of Afghans stranded in the United Arab Emirates protested Thursday, demanding they be relocated to the United States. 

Following the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan in August, the UAE agreed to temporarily host thousands of Afghans before they departed for third countries. But in the six months since Kabul’s fall, many remain in Abu Dhabi’s Emirates Humanitarian City awaiting resettlement.
