Bomb goes off at event attended by Western diplomats in Saudi Arabia
A Greek Consulate employee and a Saudi guard were injured in an attack at a cemetery in Jeddah.
A bomb exploded at a ceremony attended by Western diplomats in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday. It was the second such attack in two weeks.
On Wednesday morning local time, an improvised explosive device went off at an event commemorating the end of World War I held in a cemetery in the coastal city of Jeddah. The embassies of France, Greece, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States were “associated” with the event, according to a joint statement from their diplomatic missions. Saudi first responders came to the scene to assist, according to the embassies.
