UAE records highest daily COVID-19 cases in two months

The jump in coronavirus cases could cause the government to reimpose restrictions and restrict tourism.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) recorded its highest daily number of COVID-19 cases in two months on Monday.

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention reported that there were 541 new coronavirus cases recorded on Monday. This is the highest figure in a single day since the 683 cases recorded on July 5, according to Reuters. For comparison, there were 362 cases detected on Sunday, according to the ministry.
