Another Egyptian MP ensnared in sex video scandal

A member of Egypt's parliament claims a sexually explicit video clip — the same one that embroiled another parliament member in scandal in December — was sent by a hacker from his account.

Facebook Inc will buy fast-growing mobile-messaging startup WhatsApp for $19 billion in cash and stock in a landmark deal that places the world's largest social network closer to the heart of mobile communications and may bring younger users into the fold. Egypt’s parliamentarians were caught by surprise June 26 when it appeared one of their colleagues sent a sex tape link to a WhatsApp internet message-exchange group — a group that includes 256 legislators.

The case is being investigated. The member in question said his account had been hacked. Osama Sharshar has submitted a statement explaining the situation to the secretary-general of parliament and the Cybercrime Investigation Department.
