Republicans prepare for next round on Iran

A look at the Middle East issues Congress will be addressing the week of Sept. 14.

Members of Congress may have failed to derail the international nuclear agreement with Iran outright, but they're not giving up.

When lawmakers return Sept. 16 after taking two days off for Rosh Hashanah, the Senate is expected to vote once again on a resolution of disapproval that failed to reach a 60-vote threshold this past week. House lawmakers, meanwhile, are considering a range of new non-nuclear sanctions as well as a lawsuit accusing the White House of violating the congressional review law by not turning over confidential inspection agreements between the International Atomic Energy Agency and Iran.
