Kurdish National Council: We must remove the top of the pyramid in Syria
In an interview with Al-Monitor, the head of the Kurdish National Council, Ibrahim Biro, talked about his party’s opposition to the Syrian regime, and stressed that a federal system is needed in Syria to integrate all of Syria’s sectarian and ethnic components.
Secretary of the Central Committee of the Kurdish Union Party in Syria (Yekiti) and head of the Kurdish National Council Ibrahim Biro is one of the prominent opponents of the Syrian regime. The Kurdish Union Party was established by Kurdish politicians in Syria in 2000, and calls for recognizing the Kurds’ rights in the Syrian Constitution.
Biro is also a prominent former detainee in the prisons of the Syrian regime; he was arrested on Feb. 7, 2012, by Bashar al-Assad's forces for opposing the Syrian regime.
