US sees path to Iran accord
US officials say they see a path forward to reaching an agreement with Iran by the end of March for a final nuclear deal.
LAUSANNE, Switzerland — US officials said they can see a "path forward" to reaching a political agreement with Iran on the major elements of a final nuclear deal by the end of the month, in just six days' time.
"We can see a path forward here to get to an agreement," a senior State Department official, speaking not for attribution, told journalists traveling with Secretary of State John Kerry to Lausanne March 25. "We can see what that path might look like. It does not mean we'll get there."
